"While using my Weed Whacker in a horizontal (trimmer) configuration was relatively straightforward, I've always found it difficult to use it as an edger. I tried to copy how the pros did it, but the utter lack of control would cause me to either gouge the grass or hit the hard surface and break the string. Likewise, I found it difficult to to trim up against fences and mail box posts, as invariably I would get too close and damage them. From this frustration came the idea to design and build a support that would solve both of these issues and make the activity of trimming and edging safer, faster and better overall without having to buy additional expensive equipment or take the time to change out attachments."
